Senator John Mannion Set to Engage in A Comprehensive Four Debate Series with Brandon Williams in NY-22

Williams-Mannion

Senator Mannion to highlight stark contrast between his bipartisan plan to lower costs and Brandon Williams’ MAGA extremism

Syracuse, NY –New York State Senator John Mannion has agreed to four debates with Brandon Williams in the congressional race for NY-22.

Senator Mannion will participate in the following debates:

  • Syracuse.com / Post Standard and the Newhouse School – October 1st
  • WCNY – October 8th
  • WSYR Channel 9 – October 22nd
  • CNY Central – Date TBD

Senator John Mannion said, “Brandon Williams needs to answer for repeatedly voting to restrict abortion rights, supporting cuts to Social Security, Medicare and federal law enforcement, and refusing to back bipartisan legislation to fix our broken immigration system. I look forward to sharing with voters my lifetime connection to NY-22, my strong legislative record, and how my plan to lower costs for working families contrasts with the incumbent’s damaging efforts to promote MAGA extremism.

New York’s 22nd Congressional District is one of the most flippable seats in the country. National Journal lists Brandon Williams as the most vulnerable House Republican in the country. Cook Political Report rates this race “Lean Democrat” and Inside Elections rates it “Tilt Democratic.”

John Mannion, a lifelong Central New Yorker and grandson of Irish immigrants, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his candidacy. With nearly three decades of teaching experience in the public school system, Mannion has consistently advocated for students and educators alike.

John Mannion and his wife, Jennifer, are proud residents of Geddes, New York, where they raised their three children, two in college and one recently graduated. Mannion’s dedication to public service and unwavering commitment to the betterment of Central New York make him a compelling choice for the NY-22 Congressional seat.
