On Wednesday, March 22, at 6:00 pm, we will introduce the forum; read and discuss "American Dilemma" a short story by Langston Hughes as part of Simple Stories, Simple Truths: Reading and Discussion Forum featuring selected works by Langston Hughes. The event is titled, "Simple Stories/Simple Truths: A Script-in-Hand Reading of Selected Works by Langston Hughes taken from his book, Simple's Uncle Sam, a compilation of short stories (dialogues) about (with) a fictional character he created named, Jesse B. Student Minister Courtney and Reverend Linda Briggs have been invited to participate in a faith-based panel discussion as part of the “40 Acres and a Mule: Slavery, Reparations and Separation” project event, which will take place on Saturday, December 9th from 12 to 3 pm at the Beauchamp Library in Syracuse. The Faith-Based panel discussion is part of this larger event. It serves as a platform for the community to discuss and share insights on topics related to slavery and reparations.  Student Minister Courtney is eager to represent and contribute to the meaningful dialogue that will take place during the discussion. The discussion will run from 1:30 to 2:15 pm. With Reverend Linda Briggs, Hopps Memorial CME Church & Minister Courtney Muhammad, Muhammad Study Group of Utica; refreshments provided.
