March 2nd at Clinton Square 9 Co-Sponsoring Organizations Held A Public Demonstration to Demand an End to the Invasion of Rafah
A coalition of nine co-sponsoring organizations, namely Community Care of Syracuse, the Syracuse branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Syracuse Collective for Palestinian Liberation, Syracuse Peace Council, Faculty for Justice in Palestine at SU, the Syracuse chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, Syracuse DSA, Resilient Indigenous Action Collective, and the Syracuse chapter of Veterans for Peace, held a public rally and march that started at Clinton Square on March 2nd at 1 pm.
In light of the ever-increasing escalatory tactics employed by Israel in their occupation of Palestinian lands, this event is being planned as part of an international day of action demanding occupying forces take their ‘Hands off Rafah.’ While billions across the world have made their demands clear that Israel should end their occupation of Palestinian territories, the state continues to inflict unfathomable violence on the Palestinian population. The 30,000+ martyrs in this War will be highlighted.
The unified political demands of this demonstration echo that of all previous actions that have been held in solidarity with Palestinian liberation. Specifically,
An End to Israel’s Occupation: We are calling for an immediate end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
End all US aid to Israel: We demand an end to all financial, geopolitical, and narrative support provided by the United States to the Israeli occupation.
End Israel’s Siege on Palestine!: The Israeli government mustend all hostilities in the region of Rafah and broader Palestinian territories. We demand the immediate allowance of aid into a region riddled with starvation and numerous life-threatening conditions.
Community Care of Syracuse, the Syracuse branch of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, Syracuse Collective for Palestinian Liberation, Syracuse Peace Council, Faculty for Justice in Palestine at SU, the Syracuse chapter of Jewish Voice for Peace, Syracuse DSA, Resilient Indigenous Action Collective, and the Syracuse chapter of Veterans for Peace invite the community to join us for this peaceful event.
