Syracuse, NY (February 21, 2024) – Destiny USA is excited to announce its partnership with the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, and the Syracuse Police Department for Tykes: Winter Break Edition, tomorrow February 22nd from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Canyon at Destiny USA. Representatives from local law enforcement agencies will be present to promote child safety awareness and educate families about local law enforcement. The Tykes event will feature “Touch a Truck” with multiple law enforcement vehicles, interactive displays, drones, K9 demonstrations, and more. Join The NAACP Syracuse Onondaga County Branch and Community Folk Art Center for a special screening and panel discussion of The Right To Read. This viewing will occur on Thursday, February 22nd at 5:30 PM in our Black Box Theater. About The Film: The Right To Read, shares the stories of an NAACP activist, a teacher, and two American families who fight to provide our youngest generation with the most powerful foundational indicator of life-long success: the ability to read.
