Pre-Qualifications Officer

-Assist a firm in determining their primary business capacity, business experience, and financial health and internal controls.

-Assist firm to gather all relevant documents, certifications and other paperwork prior to meeting with Financial Readiness Officer.

-Create and maintain a file for each firm that works with the department.

-Performs a review of received documents for completeness, accuracy and adherence to department guidelines, policies, rules and regulations.

-Answers telephone calls, takes messages, and provides general and specific information to the public and patrons.

-Reaching out to and follow-up with patrons to make sure that scheduled events and meetings are not missed.

-Represents the department in the general community and at various events.

-Act as a guide for firms as they work with the department.

-Utilizes appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural, socioeconomic, educational, racial and ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, lifestyles and physical abilities.

2. Full Performance, Knowledges, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics

Working knowledge of office methods and procedures and familiarity with the use of standard office equipment.

Working knowledge of pertinent laws, rules, regulations and procedures governing the operation of the department and of specific programs.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to use critical thinking and active listening to identify important information, and discern when more information will be needed.

Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility.

3. Minimum Qualifications

A. Graduation with an Associate’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees; or,

B. Two (2) year of paraprofessional level experience, or its part time equivalent, in an office or professional environment with a focus on information management.
