City of Syracuse Weekly Roadwork Schedule- May 26 through May 31

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The City of Syracuse announced its scheduled closures and detours for the week of May 26 through May 31. More information on these closures can be found at the City of Syracuse roadwork website, www.syrgov.net/roadwork.<http://www.syrgov.net/roadwork.

Erie Blvd. West Bridge over Onondaga Creek. This City project requires a full closure of Erie Blvd West between Plum Street and Franklin Street . The West Street ramp up to Erie Blvd West will remain open. The detour will be as described: Eastbound from Erie Blvd: south to West Street via ramp, east on Fayette Street, north on Salina Street, west on Genesee Street, south on Clinton Street, west to Erie Blvd. Westbound from Erie Blvd: south on Franklin Street, west on Washington Street, north on West Street, ramp to Erie Blvd.

Connective Corridor on West Fayette Street. This City of Syracuse project will detour westbound traffic on Fayette Street at South Salina Street; north to Washington Street, west to Franklin Street, south to Walton Street and continue to West Fayette Street. Eastbound traffic will be maintained throughout.

Connective Corridor East Project. This project will detour westbound traffic on East Genesee Street between McBride Street and State Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured at McBride Street, north to Fayette Street, west to State Street and south back to the East Genesee Street intersection. Eastbound traffic will be maintained throughout.

Erie Blvd. East. This City led project will include lane reductions on Erie Blvd. East between Beech St. and Teall Ave.

West Street. This City led project will include lane reductions on West Street between W. Fayette St. and W. Onondaga St.

Join us for a two-part workshop with exhibiting artist Sofía Luz Pérez and Syracuse artist Cayetano Valenzuela. In this workshop, Cayetano Valenzuela and Sofía Luz Pérez will share their own practices and processes in making a portrait/self-portrait and ask participants to create a portrait or self-portrait. The emphasis of the portrait should be on identity and cultural background/ancestry, but they encourage everyone to delve into any part of themselves or the person they are drawn to portraying. This is a free workshop with limited space available. We ask that you attend both sessions. Art supplies will be provided and you are welcome to also bring your own.
