Connective Corridor Projects

- East Genesee Street between Almond Street and Townsend Street. Westbound traffic will be detoured at Almond St. south to Harrison St, west to State St. and north back to East Genesee St intersection. Eastbound traffic will be maintained throughout.
- Fayette Street. Multiple blocks of Fayette Street (between Townsend Street and Clinton Street) will be closed to westbound traffic. This westbound traffic will be detoured at East Fayette Street and Townsend Street, north to Washington Street, west to Franklin Street and south on Franklin Street back to West Fayette Street. Traffic wishing to access Fayette Street within this area should do so via the eastbound route as westbound travel within this area will be restricted and detoured. As part of this project, there may also be lane reductions on Montgomery Street, S. State Street S. Townsend Street, within this area.

- East Genesee Street. The project will close the northern, eastbound lane of traffic between Almond St. and Forman Avenue. All eastbound traffic will merge into the remaining eastbound lane. No detour.

West Genesee Street. This City led project will include a full street closure with detours. Westbound traffic on West Genesee St. will be detoured, north on State Fair Blvd., west on Hiawatha Blvd., north on Erie Blvd., and south on W. Fayette St. back to West Genesee St. Eastbound traffic will be detoured south on W. Fayette St., and north on Geddes St., back to West Genesee St. Erie Blvd West traffic will follow the same detours. Editor’s Note: The lines are painted on the freshly paved asphalt W. Genesee Street should re-open any day.
Hiawatha Boulevard. This City led project will include lane closures throughout for milling and paving work. No detours expected.

I-690. NYSDOT will be doing work for the remainder of this week on I-690 near the Teall Avenue exchange. The Teall Avenue exit will be closed. During this time, several areas of the bridge deck will be replaced with new concrete, the same type of work done just west of the exit ramp in August. This time period was chosen because the work is needed before the winter and there are no Syracuse University basketball or football games taking place at the Carrier Dome. All three eastbound through lanes will remain open. The posted detour for the Teall Avenue off-ramp closure will direct motorists to continue on eastbound I-690 for one mile to the Midler Avenue exit, where they can return to Teall Avenue on westbound I-690, Burnet Avenue or Erie Boulevard.
Harrison and Adams Streets: Onondaga County will begin work on Harrison and Adams Streets between Almond and South Salina Streets on Saturday, October 25th at 7am. Work will continue on Sunday, October 26th, at 7am and weekdays work will begin at 9:00 a.m. and continue until the work is complete. No detours are planned. More information and projects updates will be available on Onondaga County social media.
