Statement by Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh on upcoming improvements to recycling:
“With Common Council action today, we are continuing to move forward with the rollout of uniform recycling carts, following suit with our upgraded sanitation carts. The new system will make recycling easier for residents and build on positive changes to sanitation services for constituents, neighborhoods, and our workforce. It will also reduce trash and litter that is blown around the city from excess recycling that falls out of the current bins. We’re committed to implementing the new recycling program and look forward to working with the Council to finalize the process and ensure a smooth transition for our residents.”
