Academy of Country Music’s New Female Artist of The Year Megan Moroney to Perform at The Great New York State Fair

Megan Moroney

Fresh off a performance to remember at the Empower FCU Lakeview Amphitheater, Megan Moroney will be back to Central New York later this summer, giving fans a chance to see her again as she brings her award-winning music to The Great New York State Fair’s Suburban Park on Monday, August 26 at 8:00 p.m.

One of country music’s biggest breakout stars, Moroney burst onto the scene in 2023 with her two-time platinum single “Tennessee Orange,” which went on to notch the Georgia native’s first number one song on the country music charts and was named one of the “100 best songs of 2023” by the Los Angeles Times.

Moroney, who was named New Female Artist of the Year by the Academy of Country Music (ACM) earlier this month, followed up the success of “Tennessee Orange” with her debut album, “Lucky.” Built on a timeless fusion of country, folk, and southern rock, the album has turned up on several best-of-the-year lists from leading outlets like The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Billboard. It features powerful tracks including her new hit “I’m Not Pretty,” which was praised by Billboard as a “cheeky, defiant clapback.”

“Megan Moroney is well on her way to becoming one of country music’s biggest superstars and we couldn’t be more excited to have her perform at The Fair after wrapping up her tour with Kenney Chesney,” said Interim Fair Director Julie LaFave. “Concerts like this are part of what makes The Fair ‘great.’ Where else can you see award-winning artists, up-and-coming performers, and living legends for the price of an admission ticket? We’re looking forward to announcing more exciting performances in the coming days and weeks!”

With over 750 million global streams to date, Moroney is quickly becoming a household name after appearances on nationally-televised programs including Today, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Good Morning America. Her music has been nominated by Country Music Association (CMA), ACM, and Billboard Music Awards and she appeared at The GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles, California as part of its SPOTLIGHT series. She has been featured on Forbes’ 30 Under 30, MusicRow’s Next Big Thing Class of 2024, and Country Radio Seminar’s New Faces of Country Music.

The Fair starts Wednesday, August 21, and runs through Labor Day, Monday, September 2. All concerts are included in the price of admission, which will go on sale later this summer. The Great New York State Fair is the most affordable state fair in the country. Tickets are $8 for adults while admission is free for children under 12 and senior citizens aged 65 and older.

In total, The Fair’s Chevrolet Music Series will feature 39 national recording acts. There will be a daily 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. concert at Chevy Court (located near Gate 1), and a daily 8 p.m. concert at Suburban Park (located on the western end of the Fairgrounds, beyond the Midway).

All concerts announced thus far are provided in the charts below. Fair staff will continue to update schedules on The Fair’s website at pages dedicated to Chevy Court and Suburban Park.
