State Senate Candidate Fanny Villarreal and Latina Club President, Jaime Hechtman-Ulloa launch Latina Republicans of New York
Syracuse, NY – On Sunday, State Senate Candidate Fanny Villarreal and Latina Club President, Jaime Hechtman-Ulloa joined the New York State Federation of Republican Women to launch Latina Republicans of New York. The group convened in Albany to promote and celebrate women in Republican politics.
Villarreal herself is a Peruvian immigrant, who legally immigrated to the United States in the 1990s securing a green card for work and eventually becoming a US citizen.
“Latinas are a vibrant and integral part of New York. It is imperative that our voices are heard and our perspectives valued within the Republican party, especially at a time when illegal immigration is on the rise. Our stories of legally immigrating to escape socialism to build a better life for ourselves and family should be heard. Together, Latina Republicans will work tirelessly to promote our shared conservative values – faith, family, and freedom – and work to help elect individuals who support us.” said Fanny.
The inaugural gathering served as a platform for members to discuss their shared values, priorities, goals, and structure of the new organization.
