Victor Devon Scott, age 24, was last seen on Thursday, February 8, 2024, walking South on North Road in the Town of Tully. Since this past weekend, the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) had been utilizing patrol deputies and CID detectives to search areas where Mr. Scott may be. Along with the Sheriff’s Office, friends, family, and many Southern Hills of Onondaga County residents, the searches had resulted in negative results.
OCSO CID detectives believed Mr. Scott wasn’t a harm to himself or others; they also believed he doesn’t have known enemies who wish harm upon him. No evidence suggests that he is under any duress. Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office continued their search and worked on all aspects of his disappearance. Using Air One and drones, many areas were searched and examined, and these searches also came up negative.
Update: On February 26, Onondaga County Sheriff’s detectives, continuing their ground search, found Victor “Devon” Scott deceased in the woods near Hawthorne Hill Road in the Town of Tully. Mr. Scott has been missing for three weeks, and Sheriff detectives have been searching for him throughout this timeframe. The cause of death is yet to be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The police investigation continues to be non-criminal and will be pending the Medical Examiners results.
