December 24th, 2022, at 8:51 P.M.: Syracuse Police Officers responded to 634 Richmond Avenue regarding a shooting with injuries call. Upon arrival, Officers located a victim, Mikere Rondinello, 19 years old, Syracuse, NY. It was evident that he had been shot. Rondinello was treated at the scene by first responders before he was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where additional life-saving measures were deployed. Unfortunately, Rondinello was pronounced deceased soon thereafter.
An investigation was commenced by CID Homicide Unit Detectives, where numerous people were interviewed, and an extensive neighborhood and citywide canvass was conducted. In addition, several search warrants were executed, and evidence recovered was processed and thoroughly analyzed.
As a result of the above efforts, a suspect was identified as Quess Williams, 18 years old, Syracuse, NY. February 6th, 2023, Williams was located at 1408 Spring Street, where he was taken into custody by SPD Warrant Squad Detectives without incident. Williams was later lodged in the Onondaga County Justice Center, where he is being held pending his arraignment.
Regarding this investigation, Quess Williams was charged with the following crimes:
One count of Murder in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
