The Syracuse Police Department has made arrests in a recent homicide. On Monday, December 17, 2018 at about 10:35 P.M, the Syracuse Police Department responded to 165 John St., apartment #3 for a call of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found a male who had been shot in the upper part of his body. The victim, Antonio Gullotto, 16 years of age, of Syracuse was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division commenced an investigation, where numerous people were interviewed, an extensive neighborhood canvass was completed, video surveillance from the surrounding area was reviewed and search warrants were executed. During the investigation, two suspects were identified as Nashwan Hamood and Amir Homran.
On December 19, 2018, Hamood, 30 years of age, of Syracuse, and Homran, 20 years of age, also of Syracuse were located and arrested for Murder in the 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, and were subsequently lodged in the Onondaga County Justice Center. Photographs of Hamood and Homran are being withheld, as this this investigation is continuing.
