Syracuse Police are Investigating a Shooting on Midland Ave.

Syracuse, N.Y. – On Monday November 26th, 2018 at approximately 2:03 PM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the area of Midland Avenue and W. Glen Avenue regarding a shots fired call.  Upon arrival, Officers located several shell casing in the 3600 block of Midland Avenue. A short time later, Officers were notified that a male had arrived at Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.  Officers responded to the hospital and met with a 27 year old male, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper left chest area.  His injury does not appear to be life threatening at this time. The victim provided varying accounts of where the incident occurred, and stated that he did not see who shot at him.  There is no suspect information at this time. Syracuse Police Investigate Stabbing of a 13 Year Old

Syracuse, N.Y. – On Sunday November 25th, 2018 at approximately 5:35 PM, Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 1500 block of W. Onondaga Street in regards to a stabbing call.  Upon arrival, Officers met with a 13 year old male, who was suffering from a stab wound to his back.  The victim was transported to Upstate University Hospital for treatment.  His injury is not considered to be life threatening. The victim stated that the incident occurred on Richmond Avenue, and that he went to the 1500 block of W. Onondaga Street to report the incident.  The victim was uncooperative with the investigation and refused to provide any additional details regarding his injury.  There is no suspect information available at this time.  Investigating Officers were unable to locate a scene on Richmond Avenue. Peppino’s Invitational Boys Basketball Showcase Returns to OCC this Friday and Saturday

Syracuse, N.Y. – The 15th annual Peppino’s Invitational tips off November 30th and December 1st at Onondaga Community College. A total of 16 games will be played inside the SRC Arena and Event Center on either the SRC Arena court or the floor of the Allyn Hall Gym. The owner of Peppino’s Restaurant & Catering Company, John Vigliotti is a long-time supporter of local high school athletics. For over forty years, Peppino’s has proudly served the people of Central New York. Vigliotti has supported this huge showcase for local high school basketball for over 13 years. The showcase has come to signal the start of the season for high school boys basketball. Each year the selection committee attempts to put together high-quality match-ups fans want to see which includes many of the best teams and players from Section III and upstate New York. Admission for the 2018 Peppino’s Invitational is $5 per day and is good for the entire day. The schedule is listed below.
