Another 30 Job Offers made at St. Joseph’s Hospital….and More Positions are Available !

Dec. 21, 2015 (Syracuse, NY) – After offering an unprecedented 80 jobs to its College of Nursing graduates this past spring, St. Joseph’s held another “Offer Day” last week when it offered another 32 positions to St. Joseph’s College of Nursing graduates. And 100% of the December graduates accept these offers. As St. Joseph’s continues to grow, the healthcare system – which is the only Magnet designated hospital in Central New York – is recruiting nurses from across Syracuse, as well as across the country. In addition to entry level nurses, St. Joseph’s is actively recruiting for another 19 Clinical Care Managers (CCM). A Registered Nurse CCM acts as a principal liaison between emergency services, surgical services, nursing, finance, physicians, utilization review, and medical records to ensure the appropriate bed is assigned, patient care needs, are met and treatment plans are executed in the appropriate level of the continuum. These nurses have expertise in patient placement, care and progression; as well as administrative, financial and staffing management. St. Joseph’s will host an Open House for experienced nurses, including opportunities for on-the-spot interviews, on January 7th from 2:30-5:30 pm.

Video Essay: The Late Show-COR Development’s Syracuse Inner Harbor

Through the Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency, COR will receive $44.63 million in Tax Breaks according to Syracuse City Hall. This is on top of the $30 million in assistance from New York State. The following is a video essay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EnOI7Z08m3k&sns=em The Project: COR Development was selected by the City of Syracuse in January 2012 to develop 28 acres around Syracuse Inner Harbor. COR’s vision for Syracuse Inner Harbor is to create a mixed use community that focuses public access at the water’s edge. The master plan proposes a multi-phased development, with a diversity of uses represented in this model. The western shore of the Harbor features approximately 500 residential opportunities including condominiums, townhouses and apartments. Street level retail will support the residential community and a community college will anchor the corner of Van Rensselaer and West Kirkpatrick. Parking is provided on street, internal to the Residential & Hotel buildings and in a parking garage adjacent to the community college. A hotel with 100-125 rooms highlights the south shore of the Harbor. Retail opportunities front West Kirkpatrick Street and support for a destination marina faces the existing pedestrian promenade. A Banquet facility for 300 is located above the lobby overlooking the Harbor. The East shore supports three mixed use buildings with over 50,000 SF retail space and120,000 SF office space overlooking the Harbor and Solar Street.
