FOR EVERYONE: Yesterday’s Music with Phil Klein Friday, April 18 2:00 pm Join us for an afternoon of music, storytelling, humor and fun with pianist, composer, arranger, raconteur and music educator Phil Klein. Jazz on Demand Saturday, April 26 2:00 pm A jazz trio from the CNY Jazz arts-in-education program will perform a unique, audience-interactive show that reveals the architectural framework of a song and demonstrates how improvising musicians rely on that framework, called “form”, to perform successfully with minimal or no written music on hand.  This educational concert is fun, free and for all ages. Yoga for Everyone Mondays, April 7, 14, 21 and 28 6:00-7:00 pm Free one hour class of gentle yoga with Mr. Jay.  Please sign up. Kinchen Central Library The Galleries of Syracuse 447 South Salina St. 435-1900    APRIL ART EXHIBIT: Art Exhibit by John O’Neil Heard Mr. Heard has been an artist in the Syracuse area for over 20 years and a musician for over 30 years.  His medium is working with recycled materials such as wooden cigar boxes and shipping tubes.  Most of his art is made from 80 % recycled materials.  Using acrylic paint he creates rainsticks, tube drums and an instrument call a rhythm box.  One of his styles is reverse painting on glass.   His latest project is painting with light. FOR PARENTS & CHILDREN: Every Child Ready to Read @Your Library Workshops & Storytimes Wednesdays, April 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 Learn ways to encourage the five pre-reading skills your child can learn from birth through age five:  talking, singing, reading, writing and playing.
