Edward Smith K-8 School’s 11th Annual Black History Month African-American Professional Panel
Edward Smith K-8 Elementary (1106 Lancaster Ave.) hosted the 11th Annual African American panel discussion on Friday, February 7, 2014 in the school cafeteria from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. This Black History Month event honored Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela. The event also commemorated the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. The panel included distinguished speakers and leaders from the Syracuse community including, Sharon Contreras, Superintendent of the Syracuse City School District and New York State Assemblyman, Samuel Roberts (D).
