The audience will also learn more about African American culture through Che’Zee’s lyrics, which they use to inspire love, peace, and positivity among the community. Che’Zee is an Atlanta based R&B duo that ignites audiences with guitar-led acoustic performances and smooth harmonies that reinvigorate classic soul sounds. Powerhouse vocalists and married couple, Zeno and Chenae Moonflower, have fired up Atlanta’s underground music scence by performing at a variety of clubs, open mic nights, music festivals, and the famed Apollo Theater. These R&B newcomers have also caught national attention, with NBC’s The Voice expressing interest in their silky sounds. STATEMENT FROM MAYOR STEPHANIE A. MINER ON THE PRESIDENT’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Mayor Stephanie A. Miner issued the following statement in response to President Barack Obama’s 2014 State of the Union address: “Tonight we heard President Obama issue a call to action. 2014 will be the year when the rubber meets the road and we unite progressive values with pragmatic determination. This echoes a theme of my own State of the City—the idea that now is the time to embrace creativity and re-imagine what Syracuse can be. Now is our opportunity for big ideas and creative change and we must seize this moment. “Last August, when the President visited Syracuse he demonstrated his commitment to middle and working class Americans by talking about his plan to give students and families a better bargain in for higher education. He announced administration would begin a consumer rating system for colleges, encourage innovation, and reduce the burden of debt on recent college graduates. Tonight, with his agenda including raising the federal minimum wage and hiring the long-term unemployed, the President has reaffirmed his promise to American families that putting our progressive values into action is the best way to give everyone the opportunity to succeed. “We in Syracuse share the President’s optimism: we know that when we take bold action, our best days will be ahead. I look forward to working with his administration to fight for Syracuse’s best tomorrow.”
